When you visualize yourself conquering a difficult task or hardship, what sensation or feeling comes up for you?
Is it elation?
Is it relief?
Do you immediately feel shock because you had a small amount of self-doubt?
The mantra meditation, a meditation on loving yourself, is one of harnessing your inner warrior.
We all have deeply-rooted courage and perseverance in us. It may not feel like it in this moment; if you are currently battling a personal storm. But, this meditation on loving yourself will offer up an opening for you to eventually recognize the warrior within.
The 5 min meditation mantra offered here is one to provide comfort, clarity, and healing. These elements aid us in the journey of believing in our own self-worth and revealing hidden confidence that may be shadowed by trauma or distraction.
This is not an easy road to travel. Some days will feel better than others. To recognize your inner warrior you must travel inward and this 5 min meditation mantra will be your guide.
Wherever you may be on your journey right now, each day offers us the opportunity to begin. We can truly start whenever we want. The universe is always waiting to welcome us and to walk alongside us. We just need to receive that moment and simply start.
5 min meditation: mantra on love

5 min Meditation on Loving Yourself: Inner Warrior
Find a quiet place to meditate.
Use a meditation cushion or bolster and come into your posture for your practice.
Softly close the eyes or have a soft gaze off the bridge of the nose.
First, notice your natural breath.
Where does it reside today?
Is it shallow and high in the throat? Or are you breathing deep and into the belly?
Begin to envision a lit candle radiating in the forefront of your mind.
Everything else surrounding the candle is dark.
The only light is the flickering fire from the candle.
Slowly deepen your breathes.
Breathe deeply and slowly into the belly.
Inhale through the nostrils.
Exhale through the mouth.
Repeat 4 times.
Keep the candle light in your mind’s eye.
With the eyes closed, and the candle in your mind, we will begin the mantra.
This candle here represents power.
The inner power that lives in you.
A power to persevere in the darkness.
Repeat this silently 3 times:
“My inner power survives the darkness.”

Check in with your breath.
Is it still deep and slow?
This candle represents flexibility to change.
Whatever may come in life, the flame bends and bows with the tide.
Never ceasing.
Never breaking.
Remaining flexible and persistent.
Repeat silently “I am open to change and I embrace the adventure.”
This candle ultimately depicts your inner warrior.
The flame is the burning passion and enticement of this life.
Repeat this mantra silently 4 times:
I am a warrior.
I am worthy of victory in all areas of my life.
Stay here in this space for as long as you need.
Come back into your breath.
When you are ready, slowly blink the eyes open.
Receive the space and environment.
Smile and rejoice in the gift you’ve given yourself today!

This was such a timely post. I’ve been feeling a bit defeated and overwhelmed since the beginning of 2022 and this really gave me a moment of peace. Thank you.
Really appreciated the step by step walk through you provided. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen meditation broken down like this before, and it’s a whole lot less intimating being able to see a road map. Thanks for sharing 🙂
I needed this. Thank you for this, I appreciated the step by step guidance for this meditation. It couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I plan on doing it again tomorrow! Do you do a lot of yoga?
Amanda,
You are so very welcome. Thank you for taking the time to share your response to this practice and post on here. It is appreciated so very much.
Yes! I actually do! I’ve been a yoga instructor and meditation practitioner for over 15 years. I personally share Yin practices more, as both a teacher and a student, because that’s the practice that works best for my own healing. But I am in awe of every practice that allows us to grow and learn! Do not hesitate to reach out again.
